My Genestealer Cults force and Shadow war Armageddon

I realize I haven’t written in a while, I’ve been quite busy with work and school, but now that it’s summer I plan to be writing a lot more and try to get better in the habit of writing weekly, and try to write daily.

At any rate, I’ve recently found my camera; a fairly long while after the camera on my phone had been busted. I can finally take photos of my works and post them on this blog once again. Now that I have the capability, I can finally show my genestealer cults models off that I’m converting up out of chaos cultist parts and genestealer cult parts and random bits from my bits box. Thus far I have 11 models converted and plan on having many more. I bought a box of 20 cultists, and I plan on using the cultists from my 40k starter that are left unbuilt. I’ll hopefully have a lot more cultists by the time I’m done and a lot more content by the time the summer ends. At the rate I’m going I might have a full genestealer cult force finished by the end of the summer, along with bringing my plans of creating my own game to fruition with all of the sculpts for a starter set finished and ready.

Recently I’ve also had the privilege of having a couple games of Shadow War Armageddon at my local GW, and even though the first was a learning game, and the second was a game for the local ladder campaign that they’re hosting. Both times I had won, which was, nice, but I had learned a lot, which was even nicer, and in both of these games my opponent had bottled out ( a term used for the army running away when 25% of the force has been destroyed). I was using my genestealer cults and he was using his Tyranids. Next time I’ll have a battle report for my genestealer cults against my next opponent on Thursday (with his permission of course).

My list for this campaign is
My leader with power maul, clip harness, and a laspistol.
Two troopers, both with autoguns and blasting charges
Two specialists with heavy stubbers with clip harnesses
And three new recruits with autoguns and chainswords.

The basic plan for this force is basically have the two heavy stubbers lay down a barrage of fire concentrated on priority targets, or the nearest targets that they can to begin with, possibly forcing the opponent to bottle out if I’m lucky. While my heavy stubbers lay down fire, my other troopers will protect the two specialists and try to finish off whichever the heavy stubbers can’t kill immediately. The three new recruits and the leader would charge any weakened targets that get too close and hopefully finish it off in combat. So far the plan has worked twice, and I hope for it to work again on Thursday.

I won the last campaign game I played and so I was able to get a cache, and resupply my force with 200 points worth of reinforcements due to in game rules. With these points I recruited another specialist (genestealer cults can have 3 specialists) and I had equipped him with a grenade launcher with both frag and krak grenades. My hope for this specialist will be to stick to high ground with the other two specialists and rain grenades down from above hopefully annihilating groups of enemy troops along with the heavy stubbers.

These cultists aren't quite done yet, but I plan on getting lots of progress done on them over the course of the next week or so, probably a few more head swaps and some green-stuff work to finish them off.
