Hello once again friends. Today I'm going through my skitarii vanguard and the very unconventional colour scheme that I chose for them. It's an orange and camo green colour scheme, and is usually one that I don't much care for, which is exactly why I chose it. I wanted to see if I could do this colour scheme justice and I think that I may have done just that, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
I started the orange of their jackets with Jokaero orange, then layered with the Privateer Press colour Ember orange mixed with Jokaero orange in a 50/50 mix and layered again with Ember orange. Afterwards I washed the jackets with agrax earthshade and then edge highlighted with Trollslayer orange.
The blue on the Skitarii was started with Teclis blue, highlighted with Lothern blue, washed with Nuln oil, layered again with Lothern blue and edge highlighted with Vallejo White-Grey air paint.
The green on their armour pieces were base coated with Deathworld forest, I then layered with Elysian green and washed with Athonian camoshade. After the wash had dried I layered again with Elysian green and edge highlighted with Ushabti bone.
The brass on the skitarii were base coated with Warplock Bronze from Citadel, I then layered with Brass Scorpion and then washed with nuln oil. Afterwards I layered again with Brass Scorpion and then edge highlighted with runefang steel.
I think I did this unconventional colour scheme justice but I'm a little biased. Let me know what you think in the comments. I'm going to follow through with this colour scheme with the rest of my skitarii so if I can improve upon it I will.
That's it for me this week. I hope to post a little more frequently this month than I had last month. Next week I'll be painting up some Crypt Ghouls for my Flesh Eater Courts.
Stay safe and hobby on
