New to Battletech

Hello everyone, it's been some time since my last post hasn't it? Well I plan on fixing that and keeping posts coming at a regular rate, hopefully.

At any rate I've recently bought the Beginner box for Battletech by Catalyst games. I haven't played any games yet, but I was able to paint these models up and get them tabletop ready.

I started by spraying them with the Citadel Skull White spray, with the intent to test out the new Citadel contrast paints on them which seemed to work like a charm!

After the contrast paints, which honestly worked better than expected with the red, I touched up the red with some Evil Sunz Scarlet edge highlights to make the red really stand out.

I then decided on a blue contrast colour to make the red really stand out. I started with Caledor Sky, highlighted with teclis blue and washed it with nuln oil.

The other one I painted with the Citadel yellow contrast paint Iyanden Yellow. Honestly I liked how that one turned out a bit less so I touched up the yellow with the Base paint Averland Sunset to get some solid yellow colours on the flatter parts of the model. I then combined Averland Sunset with the Vallejo air paint White-Grey in a 1-3 mix (1 part yellow to 3 parts grey white).

For the green on the yellow fellow I started with death world forest as a base, layered with Elysian green and then highlighted with ogryn camo and then gave it a final wash in Athonian camoshade.

The bases were painted using the Citadel texture paint Astrogranite, washed with nuln oil and drybrushed with Dawnstone and then Pallid Wych Flesh.

The cockpits were painted with Russ grey and a line of Pallid Wych Flesh, with a little dot.

Here they are all completed.

Not too bad if I do say so myself. I'll have another post in the next week or so. See you all then.
