Bombs Away!

Ok, so I started getting into Aeronautica Imperialis and Legions Imperialis because.... I dunno I felt like it I guess, haha! What better reason is there for a hobby?

So to start, I grabbed a box of marauder bombers (as well as some Eldar ships) before they changed boxes/turned it to HH/phased out all Xenos races because I figured, heck I'd like to at least have a few Eldar ships for a diorama and to play with later on down the road, and the marauder bombers would be great for a Solar Auxilia force, then that way I could play against friends without them having to buy into either game and maybe film some battle reports.

Anyway here's some models, sorry for the long winded explanation of "I wanted models, so I bought models" hahaha!!

I went for a two toned colour scheme on this one, kind of like a natural counter shading camouflage where the top would look like the forests below and the bottom would look lighter like the polluted sky above.

For the green I went with a natural progression from Castellan Green, to Deathworld Forest mixing all the way up to Ogryn Camo for the edge highlights.

I hope you enjoyed this marauder bomber and I will be back next week with more painted models. Keep rolling 6's folks!!!

Clone Barc Speeder

Yeah I still don't think I've quite gotten the hang of painting up clone troopers yet. They're all white with some coloured accents!! Where do you go from there?! Ah oh well, I'll figure out a better way. I have Clone Commander Cody to paint up yet and I think I'll do a much better job on him. Either way, I also need to work on my OSL (that's object source lighting for any of the noobs that don't know) and I think working with these clones will be the perfect opportunity for me to do that.

Looking at it now, I think I could also do a better job in the indented lines. Maybe I could grab some of that Tamiya line paint and test that out.

That's it for this week folks, as always thanks very much for taking a look and coming on this journey of painting, sculpting, gaming and just in general hobbying better with me. Keep rolling 6's everyone!

Sentinel!

Yep, I painted a sentinel up. I painted it up mostly for my Vostroyan Firstborn, but I've been toying with the idea of doing some serious conversions for some Genestealer Cult Sentinels. Maybe combine organic with robotic to make some seriously messed up sentinels.

Initially I intended to do a diorama display for my Vostroyan fighting against my GS cults in a ruined hospital with an underground section. I still am going to do that but I need room for that, haha!

Anyway, the base on the sentinel is supposed to look like ruined hospital flooring with pipes exposed and tile ruined. I'll be going back to paint up the sentinel in a bit more detail later on I think, as well as paint up and magnetize the weapon options.

That's all from me for now, thanks for taking a look and keep rolling 6's!!

Noise Marines: Green With Envy!

Hey hey! Now that my first Reef Troll is complete I'm on to my next project! I wanted to paint up some noise marines in the most obnoxious green I could currently create with the palette I have at my disposal. So here are the first few coats of paint on my first five Noise Marines.

I wanted to blend in that yellow to the green, the yellow being the demonic entities within their armour and the powers of Chaos warping the beings within.

These are what they look like with finished armour. Very bright and honestly kind of spectral looking, which I'm not displeased with.

I think I did an alright job blending the green and yellow into each other for the chest pieces. There's still plenty left to do on these guys but at least I can say their armour is done for now.

As soon as I finish these guys up I'll move onto the next batch of 5. Lots to do and very little time to do it in honestly. Oh well, such is life!

Keep rolling 6's everybody!

Reef Troll #1: Complete!

Finally my first reef troll has been completed! This took far too long, even though I only had time while at camp to paint, so maybe 15 to 30 minutes a day. Anyway, here it is in all of its Brineblood Troll glory!

For the basing scheme, I tried something new. I tried using tissue paper and super glue to create a wave. It may have smoked slightly. Just slightly though, nothing burst into flames but maybe next time I'll use white glue instead of super glue. I may give the sand a coat of gloss as well later on down the road to make it look more beach like.

Also, as I was taking pictures, the troll fell off of my table and the shield itself sheared off of the attachment point between the troll and the shield, so I'm going to have to fix that! How unlucky! That's life though I guess. Overall I'm happy with the end result (even if I do need a small light box I can take with me)

At any rate, here are the rest of the gubbins and what-nots that interchange with the other parts on there.

That's all for this week folks, have a fantastic day and keep rolling sixes!

Some Freehand!

Just as promised, I've taken some pictures of all of the freehand work I've done on my battlemechs.

This was all the freehand work I did on these guys. I probably could've done more but I really don't know what until I come up with a symbol for them. Maybe some wavy lines and a triangular fox face, I dunno.

I did also get some weathering on them as well. I think that some darker weathering would have worked a bit better, but the light colour of the basing scheme didn't really allow for it, although I am very happy with how the bases turned out on these.

That's all I've got for today folks. Next time, my Reef Troll will be fully painted and ready to roll with a decent base. But for now have a phenomenal day and keep rolling 6's folks!!

Mechs, Techs and Specs!

 Good morning everyone!

Today I have an update (finally) on my Battletech mechs! They're finally finished! Man that took waaaaay longer than I would have liked but some things can't be helped. Due to issues at home I can only paint while I'm at at camp, after work which gives me maybe a few minutes after eating and showering. Still, excuses aside I would like to get A LOT more done in the coming weeks.

Anyhow, without further ado here are some pictures!

I'll have to take some more pictures highlighting the freehand X's and chevrons on them. Overall I think they turned out to be adequate. I like the camo green against the deep yellow colour and the pinkish red metallics on their weapons. The blue cockpits seem to pop rather well also, I just didn't want an Alaitoc scheme going on for my Battlemechs.

I think my next few purchases will need to be some vehicles. Hover tanks and tracked tanks seem like a very good idea and might really bring some diversity to the force.

I intend for my force to be a mercenary force "The Desert Foxes" led by Commander Dalrin Fox, formerly of Clan Wolf. The Desert Foxes will fight for any clan that can afford them, and will sometimes work for the Great House's if it is in their and the clans best interests.

I do need to break out lightbox at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later, and take some proper photos of my models. Until then I will be on to the next project. I think I will finish the basing on my reef troll, and then start up on my deepborne dire troll!

Until then my friends, keep rolling 6's!
